Definitely TMI, But Needed To Keep It Real

I debated with myself whether I should post this. If you are squeamish look away. As it is, I’m going to upload the smallest possible photograph. Rest assured, nothing in the photo is obscene. My goal was to be real with the experience, so here goes…

I apparently had an adverse reaction to the Typhoid vaccine, called a fixed drug eruption (FDE) on my left inner thigh. I had a long chat with claude.ai about this after being diagnosed by a dermatologist. The difficult part is managing the intensive itch (approaching pain). Needless to say, prescription strength corticosteroid cream and strong antihistamines are called for. Sleep is fleeting, as the itch/pain ramps up during the night.

So, in addition to recovering from jet lag in Amsterdam, I hope to heal before continuing on to Uganda. Ugh!
